Martha’s Trouble kicks off Auburn CityFest 2008
|
Returning to CityFest this year is Martha’s Trouble, a contemporary folk duo. Throughout their career together they have released
seven albums including a live album recorded at Eighth & Rail in Opelika. Jen Slocumb is lead vocalist, whose voice has been described
as mystical and filled with experience and conviction. Rob, her husband, plays acoustic guitar and sings background. Just
recently Martha’s Trouble added three new members, which has helped make Martha’s Trouble the band the couple had always dreamed of
creating. With the new guitarist Jacob Blount, drummer David Ytterberg, and bassist Paul Dow, this band is an amazing act to watch!

Chevy 6 is a wonderful new addition to this year’s CityFest and is also our headlining band! Chevy 6 was formed in April of 1974.
They started with the premise that oldies were the best thing to party to. They have weathered the storm of every musical phase
since the seventies and through out their journey they have kept true to their passion for oldies. The Auburn CityFest committee
is excited to host Chevy 6 as our headlining band for this year’s CityFest!

Dave Potts, a contemporary folk artist, will be performing after Chevy 6 at this year’s CityFest. Dave has spent several years living
out of his dusty red pickup, typically logging over 50,000 miles a year, honing his skills as a musician. In 1996, Dave stumbled
across the picturesque town of Auburn, Alabama and realized he had found his home. Since settling in Auburn, Dave's songs have shed
light on the endearing characters and small towns of the South; a sincere style that has earned him countless awards and accolades.
